Benicàssim Festival announces Liam Gallagher, Wolf Alice and more

Benicassim has extended its line up and announced two more headliners for this year’s run of the European festival.

Travis Scott and Liam Gallagher have joined The Killers as headliners for the Spanish festival, situated on the coast between Valencia and Barcelona. This news was also met with the announcement of Wolf Alice, Everything Everything, The Vaccines, Two Door Cinema Club, Catfish & The Bottlemen, Bastille plus with many others performing from the 19th to the 22nd July 2018.

Former Oasis and Beady Eye frontman Liam Gallagher is coming off the back of successful solo album As You Were, hitting the top of the charts in its first week of release. Liam was recently in the news for mocking brother Noel over his scissor plying bandmate, adding that he’d bring a pencil sharpener to his recent UK tour. Fans of Oasis can expect to be treated to classic Oasis tracks, as Liam has teased in interviews he will sneak them into his sets.

25-year-old rapper and producer Travis Scott is currently on tour across Europe and America, promoting new record “Huncho Jack, Jack Huncho”, after supporting grammy winner Kendrick Lamar. Last year Barack Obama announced that Scott’s “Butterfly Effect” was one of his favourite songs of 2017.

Recent announcements The Killers are currently touring the US with recent album Wonderful Wonderful, an album full of summery notes to kick everyone into the festival spirit, alongside the new English national anthem “Mr Brightside”.

Other acts announced include Wolf Alice, Everything Everything, Tune-Yards, Nothing But Thieves, Rusos Blancos, Shame and Melanas.

The festival announcement also leads to clues about who we can expect new music from over the course of 2018. The Vaccines have already released “I Can’t Quit” as the lead single from their upcoming album Combat Sports, but we can also expect to hear new music from the likes of Bastille, Two Door Cinema Club and Catfish & The Bottlemen at the festival this summer.

Benicassim is popular with Brits due to its scorching weather, allowing us to swap the infamous green wellies for a pair of flip flops.

Last year’s Benicassim line up saw a variety of acts including The Weeknd, Kasabian, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Foals, Dua Lipa, Years & Years and Stormzy. More acts for Benacassim 2018 will be announced in due course.

Tickets are available now, including eight days camping. Tickets can be purchased here.

Who do you think is next to be announced at Benacassim 2018?
