Digbeth’s new multi-purpose venue, The Mill, announces its opening date as it prepares to welcome an eclectic array of international acts.
Taking over the former Rainbow Warehouse space on the bustling Lower Trinity Street in Digbeth, The Mill is set to open on Friday 28th September with a special performance from Sham 69’s original 1977 lineup.
Situated against the Victorian railway arches, in a unique warehouse space which has a mezzanine level and an open-top roof garden, The Mill has undergone extensive renovations designed to deliver the best experience possible. Offering two rooms for live music revellers and club-goers to move between, The Mill is home to soaring exposed beams, brick walls and concrete floors against an industrial backdrop.
The Mill will offer an eclectic mix of touring artists, bands and DJs on a regular basis, with the likes of Mogwai, Hinds, Napalm Death, Gentleman’s Dub Club, Dashboard Confessional and The Voidz, which features Julian Casablancas of The Strokes, already announced.

For those after a more intimate affair. The Mill’s second room will offer music fans the chance to see breakthrough touring and local talent up close and personal.
The Mill’s nightlife programme will be announced within due course.
Benjamin Newby, Operations Director at The MJR Group, said: “We have carefully created an events programme that will attract concert goers from all over the country, and we’re proud to host them in Digbeth, one of the most vibrant creative quarters in the UK. Following our launch of Digbeth Arena back in May, we’re really excited to further contribute to this eclectic community and the city of Birmingham, when we open our doors later this month.”
