Having already announced The Bug Feat. Moor Mother, The Body, Hen Ogledd and Jerusalem In My Heart – not to mention a special opening concert from Neurosis and Godflesh at Town Hall – the team at Capsule have gone and unleashed a second wave of acts for this July’s festival.

Top of the list is Gothenburg’s Anna Von Hausswolff (pictured). The experimental singer-songwriter opened Supersonic in 2017, and she’s returning this summer to share her idiosyncratic blend of drone, artpop, and neoclassical darkwave.

Also making a triumphant return to the proceedings are Newcastle doom-psych outfit Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs, whose upcoming Hare & Hounds date is already sold out. Supersonic have also bagged a set from riot grrrl rising stars Big Joanie, fresh from touring with Parquet Courts.

Legendary doom-metallers YOB have also joined the bill, along with experimental hip-hop trio Dälek, self-described “noisemaker and visual artist” AJA, electronic soundscape producer Faten Kanaan, and instumental rock four-piece MONO. Supersonic also welcomes two exciting collaborations to the line up: PRISON RELIGION, an experimental electronic project of Richmond-based audio/visual artists Poozy and False Prpht, and CZN, a brand new project from percussionist and sculptor Joao Pais Filipe and Valentina Magaletti (Tomaga, Vanishing Twin, uuuu).

Supersonic Festival takes place between 19-21 July at the Town Hall and various sites in Digbeth, Birmingham, UK. Tickets are on sale now.
