Singer and guitarist Dan Finnemore had the following to say about the new release:
“Swampmeat quietly morphed into the Swampmeat Family Band a couple of years a go when Rich March (Bentley Rhythm Ace) and Tommy Hughes (Terror Watts) joined the line up obviously raising the bar and allowing us to work in weird and wonderful new ways. It’s been such a privilege to work with all the boys on this new record and all of the live stuff we’ve done in the past 18 months.”
“Too Many Things definitely sounds like Swampmeat but it’s also a lot more. We have some great guests such as Stewart Johnson (Hannah Johnson and the Broken Hearts), Adam Zindani (Stereophonics), Phil Barber (Saint Alto) and Joe Gatsby (Mighty Young) who all added a whole bunch of class. Recording it at Ace studios with Toby Wilson was one of the best times I’ve had making a record and it was right on our doorstep. We’re excited about putting it on our favourite label too, PNKSLM records. Good times.”
The lead single ‘Needle & Thread’ can be streamed below. Tickets for the album launch party on 23rd March are available here.
