Venue guide: The Sunflower Lounge, Birmingham
Situated just a stone’s throw away from New Street Station, The Sunflower Lounge is a central base for some of the coolest up and coming bands hitting the city.
Whether you’re here for a gig in the basement or a bite to eat upstairs, The Sunflower Lounge has got you covered.
On Smallbrook Queensway, near the relocated Snobs nightclub is where you’ll find The Sunflower Lounge. With it being a small, independent venue, facilities are limited so there is no cloakroom. For a pre-gig snack, The Sunflower Lounge offers a soul food menu (Sunny’s Soul Shack) which includes a range of starters, pulled burgers to die for and killer sides. Unfortunately there are no disabled facilities as the main venue is down a small flight of stairs.

Getting to The Sunflower Lounge
As The Sunflower Lounge is right in the middle of Birmingham City Centre, traffic may become problematic during peak times. For Sat Nav users, enter B5 4EG, or follow the signs towards Birmingham New Street Station or the Bullring via Smallbrook Queensway.
Limited street parking can be found on nearby side streets (Theatre Approach, Hinckley St, Dudley St). Secure parking is available at Birmingham New Street NCP which can be found on St Jude’s Passage, around the corner from The Victoria pub.
By public transport
As previously mentioned, the venue is a two minute walk from Birmingham New Street Station and is one of the most accessible venues by public transport in Birmingham.
Bus routes from some areas of South Birmingham stop outside New Street Station with bus stops from other areas dotted all around the city centre. For more information on public transport in the West Midlands, please visit networkwestmidlands.com.
