If you’re not familiar with Hippo Campus, you will be soon. Named one of NPR’s favourite new acts of 2017, the indie-pop group have since moved from strength-to-strength, with the release of their second album Bambi last year acting as a springboard for their current tour. This feels like a watershed moment for the band, and one that surely shouldn’t be missed.

The UK leg of the Bambi tour is a small part of a 53 show tour across the US, UK and Europe respectively that began at the start of September in their home-state Minnesota and concludes at the start of March in Copenhagen. Their Birmingham show may be a mere stop at the O2 Institute on a long journey but the local fans will surely make it a very warm welcome for the American 5-piece.

In love with all things ‘indie’ and underground – from psychedelic to alternative to rock. My favourite artists include Black Honey, The Last Shadow Puppets, Tame Impala, The Vaccines and Childish Gambino.
