Mainland European festivals offer fantastic bang for your buck, with some of them offering three or four days of live music and a week’s worth of camping for less than £150. Benicàssim Festival

Super Bock Super Rock

Croatia’s Outlook festival, a hip-hop juggernaught, combines a varied line up (J-Hus, Bonobo, Stefflon Don, Lady Leshurr) on the very tip of the country. The festival site is almost surrounded by the sea – and takes place in a 2000 year old amphitheatre – complete with beach and boat parties.
Bilbao BBK Live

Located in the Spanish Basque Country mountains, the alternative / indie 21-year old BBK festival is a cheaply-priced marvel, providing entertainment from a variety of stages that host a huge array of acts that seem to reel on indefinitely: 2018 brings Alt-J, Childish Gambino, David Byrne, Florence + The Machine, Gorillaz, and Young Fathers, not to just name a few prolific acts. Local and regional Spanish acts fill the rest of the bill. The area around the festival is described as an “old cobbled town”, with history and museums to please the culture searchers.

Forbidden Fruit Festival
