Sheffield hair metal kings Def Leppard will play their seminal 1987 album Hysteria in full at Birmingham Arena on December 17th.
Rocket! Yeah! Satellite of loveeee…get ready to sing those words with giddy abandon on Monday December 17th, as legendary rockers Def Leppard will be taking in a barnstorming set at Arena, Birmingham. The Yorkshire five-piece are on tour throughout the month to celebrate the 21st anniversary of landmark album Hysteria, considered globally to be their finest work. The album, which has sold over 25 million copies worldwide, spawned the international hits ‘Rocket’, ‘Pour Some Sugar On Me’, ‘Animal’ and ‘Love Bites’.
Hysteria is the band’s longest album, coming in at a whopping 62 and a half minutes, meaning attendees will get plenty of bang for their buck. The group, led by Joe Elliott, will no doubt dust off some of their other hit songs, including ‘Let’s Get Rocked’, ‘When Hate & Love Collide’, ‘Now’ and more. At the time of release, Hysteria – named after the worldwide reaction to drummer Rick Allen’s infamous car accident, which resulted in his arm being amputated – hit number one in both the UK and America, cementing Def Leppard’s place as one of the world’s biggest bands.
Their last record, 2015’s self-titled album, charted just outside of the top ten on both sides of the Atlantic, proving the long-in-the-tooth rockers still have plenty of gas – or should that be sugar? – in the tank.
