U.S. folk rock outfit Mothers preparing for UK tour this February
Mothers will be bringing their open-hearted indie folk to Birmingham on February 26th in support of their sophomore album, Render Another Ugly Method.
Mothers somehow continue to fly undeservedly beneath the radar, a unique fusion of a litany of modern music trends that seems perfectly poised to takeover. Formerly the solo project of Kristine Leschper (whose haunting vocal is the band’s calling card) they shift from ragged post-punk riffs to stripped-back folk storytelling with an ease that indicates their burgeoning talents.
Their last record, Render Another Ugly Method, was released to quiet acclaim last September, an appropriate response for a record that is full of suppressed yearning. This February sees them taking to UK to tour their new material alongside their first record, with a date at the Hare & Hounds in Birmingham on February 26th.
Support for the tour has yet to be announced, but given the vicissitude of the headline act’s own work these shows are not to be missed. Tickets are available here, whilst a full list of UK tour dates are below.

Film editor, occasional writer, and sporadically coherent ranter. Bear in mind that if it stars Robert Pattinson or is directed by Bong Joon-Ho it’s probably getting an extra star off the bat.
