Dhani Harrison Unveils Live Video for ‘Damn That Frequency’ from Upcoming Film ‘INNERSOUNDSTAGE’

Dhani Harrison has released a new live video for the track Damn That Frequency from his upcoming live performance film, INNERSOUNDSTAGE. Set to premiere on 27th September via H.O.T Records/BMG, INNERSOUNDSTAGE was filmed at Soundstage Studios in North London and directed by Emmy Award-winner Joel Kazuo Knoernschild. The film captures a live performance of Harrison’s critically acclaimed album INNERSTANDING, providing an immersive visual and sonic experience.

The original track, described as “psychedelic” by NME and “hypnotic” by American Songwriter, features Graham Coxon of Blur and highlights Harrison’s multi-instrumental talents, as he handles bass, drums, and guitar. The live rendition brings this intensity to a new level, offering an intoxicating, trippy atmosphere.

The live performance features Harrison on guitar and vocals, joined by an impressive ensemble including Donovan Hepburn on drums, Jeff Wootton on guitar, Josh Giroux on keyboards and vocals, Toby Butler on bass, and special guests like Australian singer Mereki Beach, Liela Moss of The Duke Spirit, and saxophonist Alex White. The eight-piece band delivers a neon-soaked production that often breaks the fourth wall, offering glimpses into the control room and providing a fresh sonic take on INNERSTANDING tracks, including the singles Damn That Frequency and I.C.U.

INNERSOUNDSTAGE will be available for a limited premiere on YouTube from 27th to 30th September, followed by Video On Demand on 1st October.

Key Praise for INNERSTANDING:

  • MOJO describes the album as “marking out [Harrison’s] own territory, sustaining a brooding musical atmosphere.”
  • Paste praises the album’s mix of “programmed beats, fuzzed-out bass,” and lyrics capturing a world on the edge.
  • American Songwriter highlights its “atmospheric” quality, while MXDWN calls Harrison a “contemporary musical genius.”

Harrison’s 2023 has been a busy year, with his release of Dreamers in the Field, a full-length collaboration with Tuvan throat-singing group Huun-Huur-Tu and two-time GRAMMY® Award-nominated producer Carmen Rizzo. The album, blending traditional Tuvan music with modern production, was lauded for its inventive sound, with Uncut giving it a 9/10 and The Sun describing it as “an intensely spiritual experience.”
