Gig News: Brazil Goes Emo with “I Wanna Be Tour”

The I Wanna Be tour is making its way to Brazil in March. Emo and punk are not the most popular genres down here, with Funk, Rap and Reggatone being the big hitters when it comes to popular music in Brazil.

This tour announcement is fantastic news for fans of Pop Punk, Emo and other music of similar styles. Brazil is in for a rare treat! They have some incredible headliners playing as well as some local talent being showcased (local to Brazil, I mean, and I’m sorry that doesn’t narrow things down too much as the country is bloody massive!)

Simple Plan are huge out here, and they will be co-headlining the show with one of my favourite bands, A Day to Remember. Here is a list of all the headliners announced: Simple Plan, A Day To Remember, The All-American Rejects, All Time Low, The Used, Asking Alexandria, NX Zero, Pitty, Boys Like Girls, Mayday Parade, Plain White T’s and Fresno.

I will drop the dates and locations below:

02.03 – SÃO PAULO – ALLIANZ PARQUE

03.03 – CURITIBA – ESTÁdio couto pereira

06.03 – RECIFE – CENTRO DE CONVENÇÕES

09.03 – RIO DE JANEIRO – ESTÁDIO NILTON SANTOS

10.03 – BELO HORIZONTE – Arena independÊNCIA

Tickets are available here at Eventim.br, and they are doing a super cool charitable incentive where if you bring 1k or rice or beans as a donation for people experiencing homelessness and people in need, you can get your ticket for half price. It’s a nice little combo of good music and a good cause.

I will attend this one (the Rio leg of the tour), so expect a review of the main acts here in March. Brazilians are experts at having a great time, so I’m stoked to get to this one, I cant wait!
