A veteran vinyl collector since his early teens, Aslan is known for spinning discs which vary from activist poetry to Eastern-disco and funkadelia. Mechanical Turk, his breakthrough EP, was released on the coveted Glaswegian Huntley + Palmers, and received glowing reviews. Juno Records offered further critical acclaim: “brilliantly hard to pin down. “[A] myriad of styles – post-punk disco and afro-futurism, most notably – whilst not sounding anything like any of them”.
Voyage is the brainchild of local Musicology student Kristian Birch-Hurst, graphic designer Luigi Abate, and techno enthusiast Kris Cheung. Their mission is to showcase the best in new electronica from around the globe. Set-times will be fixed to extended guaranteeing a true taste of artists’ unique sound. Their mantra: to immerse, embrace and create.
Capacity is capped at 250 and tickets start at £5, available from here.
