The Road to WWE WrestleMania 41
The road to WWE WrestleMania 41 has well and truly shifted up a gear with John Cena’s industry-altering surprise heel turn at the recent Elimination Chamber PLE. So, how exactly is this year’s showcase of the immortals shaping up?
What Happens in Vegas…
With the huge announcement of one of the spectacle’s two main events consists of a heel John Cena vs. “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes being the main talking point heading into Las Vegas this April, the rest of the card is looking like it could turn out to be another Paul “Triple H” Levesque classic. After all, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.
Royal Rumble 2025 winner Jey Uso has been receiving some stick lately from fans due to his mistimed dive to the outside, with the question of this botch being a work due to his failed spear attempt last Monday on Raw. It is likely WWE are building this story in real-time, which would be a credit to them. It will certainly play in the story’s favour as the underdog Uso goes up against the hard-hitting “Ring General” Gunther, creating more of a sense of struggle and doubt for “Main Event” Jey Uso as he finally gets his singles match in the Mania main event. This is Jey Uso’s moment, but will Gunther really be letting go of his World Championship so easily?
Tiffy Time Out?
Tiffy Time has been running wild in 2025, but recent Rumble winner Charlotte Flair is starting to convince fans that her veteran psychology may just be too much for Tiffany Stratton. At first it seemed the momentum was firmly in the grasp of Stratton, who had been on top in promos and even hitting a swanton bomb off the entrance stage in a brutal brawl on a recent SmackDown episode. But Charlotte Flair put Stratton in check in a live promo between the two, singling out Tiffany’s lack of experience. I think it may be time out for Tiffy Time.
Rhea Ripley has managed to slither her way into the Women’s World Championship match picture, as she faces Iyo Skye for the title to decide who faces Elimination Chamber winner Bianca Belair. Belair distracted Rhea in her match against Iyo Skye, costing Ripley her World Title. Is this one going to be two powerhouses against each other, or will it be the agile Skye who gets to take the WrestleMania moment away from Rhea Ripley? My gut is telling me that this may turn out to be a triple-threat match. We shall see.
A Favour From the Wiseman
The rest of the card so far consists of Randy Orton vs. Kevin Owens, as two former friends look to end each other’s careers in what will be a vicious encounter. And the eagerly awaited hate triangle of CM Punk vs. Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns in the triple threat match. Will Paul Heyman stay loyal to his Tribal Chief? Or will CM Punk have a favour up his sleeve on behalf of the Wise Man himself?
And that huge match between Rhodes and Cena… wow. Who knows what “The Final Boss” The Rock has to add to the equation, with his mysterious hand signals strong the wrestling conspiracy pot. What will be The Rock’s final surprise? Many are speculating that “Stone Cold” Steve Austin may come to the aid of Cody, although this is not confirmed by WWE and is merely speculation. If the past two Mania’s are anything to go by, I am sure this year’s is going to attempt to surpass them both combined!
This year’s Grand Daddy of them all is going to be a historic one; after all, WWE have some wrongs to right from the disappointment of WrestleMania IX from Caesars Palace! We still remember WWE, dammit.
