Manchester City Favoured for Another Title – 2024/25 Premier League Predictions & Odds

So the Premier League has once again begun and unsurprisingly Manchester City are sitting top of the pile with six points from the opening two games. One a two-nil victory away at Chelsea which is nothing to sniff at. I know Chelsea are a bit of a mess right now but they made light work of Wolverhampton Wonders this weekend so with that in mind City sitting top is probably how things will be at the end of the season.

The best online bookmakers have The Citizens at 6/5 to lift the title at the end of the campaign while Arsenal are second favourite with odds of 9/5. We could go into further detail here, but if we are being honest the most likely scenario is another Title race between Arsenal and Manchester City with Liverpool finishing in third Position.

Who Will Claim The Extra Champions League Place?

So with the top three predicted and all set in place, the next position up for grabs is the coveted fourth spot. This will be another interesting race and could well go down to the wire. The teams at play in this scenario are Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa, Manchester United, Chelsea and Newcastle United. That’s five teams in total that could make the grade. Honestly with Manchester City being so dominant the race for the top four has become a little more interesting in recent years as you are never certain who will make it in.

Out of these 5 teams, bookmakers have Chelsea as favourites to get the last Champions League place with odds of 6/4. After this Tottenham, Manchester United and Newcastle are all valued at 2/1, with Aston Villa slightly behind those three clubs at 3/1. It’s sure to be a close race, and it’s one we football fans will have our eyes on I am sure.

Who is Relegation Fodder?

Now let’s move on to discussing the dreaded drop back down into The Championship. The step up from the lower division into the Premier League is a massive one and predictably the teams that do make their way into the promised land tend to go back down after one season as they struggle to adapt. That being said this isn’t always the case as teams like Brighton have proved over the last few seasons.  Bookmakers have been following the trend of newly promoted teams being relegated again this campaign with Leicester City as favourites for the drop with odds of 2/5. The Foxes are then followed by other new boys Ipswich town at 1/2 and Southampton who are priced at 1/1.

I honestly think Everton could be in serious trouble as well, they have had a horrible start to the season conceding 7 goals in their first two games and scoring none. They have played a tough opposition with a depleted squad, but I feel they need to turn their fortunes around sooner rather than later as they won’t be able to keep escaping the top forever. If they get another point deductions it’s probably curtains for The Toffees.
