Elimination Chamber: The Road to Wrestlmania stops in Toronto

Elimination Chamber: Toronto is right around the corner, and this year’s edition is set to be a huge one as WWE returns to the former SkyDome.

Wrestlemania VI and X8 were both held here, forever etching Toronto’s name into the fabric of WWE history. Will history be made this year?

Making WWE History?

John Cena makes his Elimination Chamber return after his recent departure to Hollywood, as he seeks to win his 17th World Championship on his final run. Cena announced this year that it will be his last, will he be able to make history by beating Ric Flair’s record of 16 World Championships.

Cena will be in there with CM Punk and Drew McIntyre, two men who have recently come off the tail end of their classic rivalry in 2024. Their Hell in a Cell match at Badd Blood that year proved to be a brutal encounter. Will this rivalry reheat inside a different kind of cell. Another in the mix is Seth Rollins, who has his own beef with both McIntyre and Punk, making this a deadly situation for this hate triangle.

Finishing off the numbers for the men’s match is Logan Paul and Damian Priest, with one looking to prove themselves in the main event and the other looking to take back what was rightfully his. Credit to all the competitors in this one, as all guys have been impressing in the ring and on the mic lately, with the exception of Cena who is always going to be in his own league.

Wrestlemania Moment

The Women’s match consists of Liv Morgan, Bianca Belair, Alexa Bliss, Bayley, Naomi and Roxanne Perez. This match has a stellar cast of athletes, and while the story going into this match is not quite as emotionally volatile as the men’s match, but I am sure the superstars will put on a great bout in Toronto. Roxanne Perez impressed at the Royal Rumble and has been proving her worth outside of the NXT ring lately. Liv Morgan is aiming to regain her grasp on the Women’s World Title as she aims for a spot at Wrestlemania’s Main Event.

Kevin Owen’s Aims to End Sami Zayn’s Career

In other matches, Sami Zayn takes on Kevin Owens in an unsanctioned match. This blood feud feels like a de ja vu, but of the good variety. The capabilities of both these men combined with their chemistry is a recipe destined for a classic encounter for the ages. Their love-hate relationship has provided some of the greatest wrestling moments of the modern era, and after Kevin Owens turned on Cody Rhodes and lost to him at the Royal Rumble in Indianapolis earlier this year, his sight has been set on Zayn. This one is going to be brutal. WWE have been pushing the envelope the past year with Attitude Era level shenanigans and brutality (minus the unprotected headshots) so I am intrigued about what is in store for us at Elimination Chamber.

Something to Prove

WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton teams with Trish Stratus in a tag match against Nia Jax and Candice LeRae. This has the potential of being a great match, with the inclusion of Trish Stratus and the athleticism of Stratton we are sure to be in for an entertaining bout. Nia Jax will not be in the best of moods after she has been dealing with the aftershock of losing her World title to her former friend, Tiffany Stratton.
