Is it really two decades since Gomez, those loveable indie slackers from Southport, released the Mercury Music Prize winning debut album Bring It On? It only seems like yesterday that we were singing along to the irascible charm of ‘Whippin’ Piccadilly’ and ‘Get Myself Arrested’. Whilst both those tracks got single releases, along with ’78 Stone Wobble’, the whole album is a classic symphony of bluesey art rock with a unique lyrical flair that set them apart from the soporific laddishness of contemporary Brit poppers. It’s a welcome tribute to a seminal record, that Gomez will be performing the whole album in full. Altogether, We like lovin yeah.
