Alt-rock sextet Cage The Elephant have announced a few (by their standards) intimate shows here in the UK, one of which is the second room of Birmingham’s O2 Institute. The news surrounding this micro-tour follows swiftly after the announcement of their fifth studio album, Social Cues, which is set to be released April 19th. The new album is a follow-up to their 2015 release, Tell Me I’m Pretty, and Unpeeled, a live-recorded album released in the summer of 2017.
The group have also teased their new material with the release of the new single ‘Ready To Let Go’, a bass-heavy song that boasts frontman Matt Schultz’s ability to let loose his inhibitions and regrets. ‘Ready To Let Go’ – and presumably the entire new album – shows a real disparity from their self-titled debut album when the band was still in its youth.
Cage The Elephant have also recently announced a co-headline tour in the US with Beck across July and August.
Tickets for the UK tour dates will be available from Friday 1st March at 9am or can be purchased on pre-order with a purchase of ‘Social Cues’.

In love with all things ‘indie’ and underground – from psychedelic to alternative to rock. My favourite artists include Black Honey, The Last Shadow Puppets, Tame Impala, The Vaccines and Childish Gambino.
