The Peawees New Album Is Almost Here!

The Peawees will release their new album ‘One Ride’ on 6th September via Wild Honey Records.

Their new single ‘Banana Tree’ captures pure rock’n’roll energy with a repetitive lead guitar, soul-influenced rhythm, pounding verses, and a driving chorus. Inspired by a true story, it narrates the tale of a convicted felon who escaped to the Canary Islands to start anew in a banana field. Despite several failed attempts to get him to return, the authorities eventually brought him back, ending his plans for a new life. Lead singer Hervé shares, “During the pandemic, I was stuck in Tenerife in the Canary Islands. While there, I bought a guitar from an Egyptian guy for 30 euros to pass the time, and that’s where I wrote most of our new album. I heard about a criminal who fled Italy and came to the islands to start a new life – a plan gone wrong. It was the story that inspired me to write ‘Banana Tree’.”

The band has already shared three tracks from the upcoming album: ‘The Wolf’, a powerful song blending garage, rock’n’roll, and soul with a modern touch; ‘Plastic Bullets’, an instant punk classic; and ‘Lost in the Middle’, a driving garage-punk anthem about love gone sour.

Having just wrapped up a series of Spanish shows supporting Swedish garage rock legend The Hellacopters, The Peawees have more European dates lined up throughout the summer, with additional dates to be announced soon.
