Wendy James to release new album and embark on nationwide instore tour

Wendy James is set to release her tenth album, The Shape of History, on 25th October, and has announced a two-week in-store tour to mark the occasion. The tour will include appearances at record stores such as London’s Rough Trade East and Assai Records in Edinburgh and Glasgow.

The album, written, produced, and mixed by James herself, was recorded between West London and New York City. It will be available digitally, on deluxe vinyl, and via deluxe CD.

Reflecting on her upcoming tour, James expressed her excitement, noting her deep connection to record shops: “I am so excited to be out on the road again! This time to introduce everyone to the songs on my 10th Album The Shape Of History, fittingly as an in-store tour of the UK. Record Shops!! Every one of these venues takes pride in delivering music to their customers, introducing new music, re-issuing music gone by and in my case… the culmination of a 10-album odyssey which began in 1986 when I co-formed Transvision Vamp!”

James will play tracks from The Shape of History along with selections from her previous albums. She’ll also engage with fans through conversation and audience questions, concluding each event at the merch desk to sign items and take photos with attendees.
