Peter Alexander Jobson Releases New Single ‘Please Please Please’ Ahead of Debut Album
Northumberland songwriter and poet Peter Alexander Jobson has unveiled his latest single, ‘Please Please Please’, ahead of his debut solo album Burn The Ration Books Of Love, set to release on 15th November. The track, which has already gained attention on BBC 6 Music, is the third to be released from the upcoming album. Produced by Ben Christophers, with backing vocals from Elbow’s Guy Garvey, the single is accompanied by a stripped-down performance video filmed at Salford’s Blueprint Studios.
Reflecting on the song, Jobson shared that it offers a sense of comfort, describing it as “a friend with their hand on your shoulder saying ‘Yes’ and assuring you everything will be ok.”
This highly anticipated album marks a new chapter for Jobson, who was previously the bass guitarist and keyboard player for the acclaimed band I Am Kloot. After the band’s split in 2016, Jobson turned his attention to composing soundtracks and collaborating with artists like Elbow and Nadine Shah. His debut solo project draws heavily on his Northumberland roots and personal experiences, blending genres like country psychedelia and cocktail jazz.
The album includes 11 tracks, each offering an intimate look into Jobson’s life, including ‘The Night Of The Fire’, a song inspired by an incident from his childhood when he accidentally started a fire in his village. With influences ranging from Leonard Cohen to Robert Johnson, Burn The Ration Books Of Love promises to deliver a deeply autobiographical journey through music.
