Counteract announce link up with Aston Villa to provide local matchday music
Counteract Magazine are pleased to announce details of a link up with local football team Aston Villa to provide them with local matchday music.
Counteract have teamed up with Aston Villa to help promote up-and-coming Midland musicians from the Fulham game on Saturday March 10 onwards.
Our song supremos will suggest ace artists to play in B6 on the pre-match hit parade to complement the usual classics that are pumped out.
The first band to be chosen are Peace (pictured) and their track ‘Follow Baby’ will be played over the PA in the run up to kick-off.
Russell Jones, Villa’s head of marketing, said: “We’re always looking to refresh the music we play on a matchday and we’re very happy to get the sound advice of Counteract Magazine to help us to this end.”
Counteract Magazine editor Richard Franks added: “It’s a fantastic opportunity for all three parties – Counteract, Villa and the artists from Birmingham. I’m delighted.
“I’m a proud Brummie and I’ve grown up in this city all my life. I’ve found myself disappointed that for a city of this size, it tends to get ignored on a music basis.
“We feel Birmingham has some great bands out there and we’re delighted that Villa will be playing the music of some of them.”
To submit music to be played at Villa Park, email richard@counteract-magazine.com with tracks or links to Midland musicians.
Stay tuned to Counteract and avfc.co.uk for more information on who is to be played at the 42,000 capacity ground.
