Band of the Day #246: Semantics

Band: Semantics
Hometown: Birmingham
For fans of: Joy Division, The Cure
Online: Facebook | Twitter | Soundcloud

Formed in 2014, and having previously played gigs supporting the likes of Vryll Society, this four piece plan on finishing their EP ready for release next year.

With haunting vocals similar to those of Joy Division’s Ian Curtis, a spirit of post punk stands strong with Semantics.

The band’s most recent track, ‘Ocean’ unleashes dusky yet powerful guitar patterns amongst symbol crashes, penetrating a swift essence of 1980s alternative rock.

Semantics will be playing alongside SLTP on Wednesday November 18th at Scruffy Murphy’s. More event information can be found on the Facebook event.
